William “Bill” Rodham Kenner passed away surrounded by loved ones at his happy place – his beach house in Bay St. Louis, MS – on Friday, November 7 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born November 6, 1954, to Ruth Faye Gatewood Kenner and Jack Wade Kenner, Sr. in Memphis, TN.
He attended Campus School and East High School in Memphis. Bill pursued several entrepreneurial business ventures, eventually landing in the real estate field as an agent with Sowell & Company. After learning the business, he began investing in properties, building his company Prime Properties and becoming the “Rent Man.”
Bill was fun-loving and goofy with a quick wit. He lived an active lifestyle, spending time with his friends, children, grandchildren (who aptly nicknamed him “Go Daddy”), and his dog Sophie. He adopted many hobbies throughout his life and especially enjoyed riding scooters and bikes, as well as fishing at his farm in Lexington, TN.
Bill is survived by his daughter Faye Rainer (Jimbo); his son Alex Kenner (Carolyne); his four grandchildren Ruthie, James and William Rainer and Eleanor Kenner; his brother Jack Kenner; his niece Taylor Kenner; and many beloved extended family members and friends. Bill — Dad, Go Daddy, the Rent Man — will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to St. Joseph’s Hospice (Brandi and Cat) and to devoted friend and caregiver Teresa Bass.
And because Bill unabashedly loved sweets, you are encouraged to have a sweet treat in his honor.
Bill’s family will celebrate his abundant life at a private observance.
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Bill Kenner.
