Waveland

Wanda Rogers Haskell, 78, of Waveland, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in her beautiful home beside her devoted and loving husband, Dewight Haskell, on December 17, 2025. Wanda was born on August 31, 1947, to Freddie Rogers and Lois Boudreaux. As the daughter of a Navy serviceman, her early years were shaped by movement and adventure; Wanda spent much of her life in Louisiana and later planting deep roots in Mississippi.

Wanda’s greatest joy was her family. She brought four precious souls into this world; daughters: Robin D’Angelo and Wednesday Berthiaume and sons: Frankie D’Angelo and Steven D’Angelo. Her love extended endlessly to her eleven grandchildren—Daniel, Evan, Jesse, Seth, Myra, Mattie, Mia, Madison, Giavonni, Graylin, and Rain—and her nine great-grandchildren—Mason, Miles, Amelia, Magnolia, Penelope, Irvin, Kate, Nikolai, and Marvick—each of whom held a special place in her heart whom she deeply cherished.

Wanda lived a life full of purpose, creativity, and determination. Through hard work and perseverance, she built a successful career and eventually founded her own stage crew company in Bay St. Louis, earning respect and admiration in her field. An artist at heart, Wanda created magical works of art that continue to fill her home and the lives of those who loved her. She also found peace in tending her garden, spending quiet moments beside the pond she dug herself—simple moments that brought her deep joy and reflection. A true Jill of all trades, Wanda poured passion into everything she did. She lived by the words, “Do what you love and love what you do.”

Wanda believed that life itself is art. She taught her family to pause, to look closely, and to appreciate both what is and what has been created. She often said her paintings were not perfect; if you looked closely, you could see every flaw in her brushstrokes. Yet those imperfections made her work honest, beautiful, and real, much like her own life. Though Wanda has laid down her brush, her spirit lives on in every stroke, every color, and every memory she left behind. Her love will forever anchor and bind her family together. To the moon and back, always and forever. We love you, Mama.
