Victor Ross "Rooster" Maurigi, 79, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away Monday, December 08, 2025, in Gulfport, MS surrounded by his devoted family.
Ross was born August 8, 1946, and raised in Bay St. Louis, MS. He played basketball at Bay High, PRCC and USM. He worked for Otis Elevators and surveyed for Chiniche in the early 70’s. Then, moved on to work for a construction crew to help build DuPont DeLisle. In 1978, he was immediately hired on and continued to work for DuPont until he retired in 2006.Ross loved this town and the people in it. He volunteered for the police and fire departments and even ran for office. He also loved fishing, long car rides, the Packers, playing darts and pool down at the local bar, but most of all he loved his family.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Gasper (Gnu) and Lois Maurigi; two brothers, Don and GE Maurigi and his wife, Sandy Kay Maurigi.
He is survived by his wonderful and loving wife Maryanne Maurigi; two sisters Alice Boudin and Ginger Maurigi; six children, Shannon, Russell and Angie Maurigi, Jennifer Sims, Jessica Stahl (Floyd) and Elizabeth Reardon (Daniel); eleven grandchildren, Reece, Ryder and Rylee Maurigi; Kolby, Mathieux and Davan Sims; Christopher Robinson, Jr., Floyd Lewis III, Gabrielle Lewis; Kaegan and Korben Williams; five great-grandchildren and his loyal pup Buster.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with a Celebration of life at 12:00 noon.
Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS.
