Timothy Mark Groom Sr

Timothy "Tim" Mark Groom, Sr.,75, of Liberty, MS passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 in Liberty, MS.

Tim was born on January 25, 1949, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

He dedicated himself to various hobbies and interests throughout his life. He found joy in karaoke, playing cards, and hunting. His passion for wildlife was evident in his pursuits of observing, studying, photographing, and videoing the creatures that roamed the outdoors. Additionally, Tim had a green thumb, enjoying the art of planting and harvesting fruit trees and bushes.

One of Tim's proudest accomplishments was his innovative spirit. He recently patented a tool designed for peeling shrimp, turning one of his ideas into a tangible product. This achievement brought him immense pride, and he was determined to secure the patent before his passing.

Tim was preceded in death by his wives, Ethel C. Groom and Barbara Lee Groom, parents, Robert and Joan Groom; twin brother, Thomas M. Groom; sister, Diane Groom Sakowski; stepdaughter, Angela Venezia Coulter and stepson, Alan Venezia.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Groom Hartman; granddaughters, Marissa and Miranda; son, Timothy M. Groom, Jr., (DeAnn); daughter, Sherry Groom Tomeny (Zakai, Sr.) grandson, Zakai, Jr. (Brooke); great grandson, Kohen; granddaughter, Shaelen Tomeny Pugh (Corey); stepsons, Vincent Venezia III, Michael Vewnezia, Mark Venezia, Gerald Bryant, and Ricky Bryant, along with stepdaughters Vanessa Johnson and Kimberly Williams; two sisters, Marcia Groom Cadis, and Marlene Groom Brown; brother, David Rogers; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with a Prayer Service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
