Steven Lee Harrel

Steven Lee Harrel "Steve", age 65 of Bay St. Louis, MS. passed away on August 31, 2026, at his residence.

Steve was born on July 10, 1961, in Charleston, SC to John Alexander "Bo" Harrel and Patsy Jane (Swann) Harrel. Prior to becoming ill, Steve worked in the home improvement industry and enjoyed cabinetry. He was well known for his tall tales and his ability to find humor in everything. In addition to Steves love for home improvements and making people laugh, he was a believer in Christ and attended the Morris Rd Church of Christ in Gulfport, MS.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother and brother, who passed away in infancy.

He is survived by his father and his father's wife, Mary; his daughters, Ashley Brown and Haley Harrel; his sons, Justin Harrel and Alex Harrel; and many grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Tinkle, and her husband Tracy; his nieces, Kayla, Sammy, and Kelsey, and their families; as well as his dear friends, Guy McDonald, Randy Dryer, and Juan Diaz, whose friendships meant so much to him.

In accordance with Steve's wishes, he was cremated and no formal funeral service will be held. At a later date, his family will gather privately for a small ceremony as he is laid to rest in the mausoleum above his mother, who held an incredibly special place in his heart throughout his life.

The family of Steve Harrel would like to thank the members of the Morris Rd Church of Christ in Gulfport, MS for being present for Steve both spiritually, emotionally, and financially during the last years of his life.
