Russel Anthony Bodin Jr.

Russel Anthony Bodin Jr., 70, of Waveland, MS and Metairie, LA, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in the arms of his loving wife.

Russel was born on April 4, 1956, in Franklin, LA to Russel Sr. and Luna Bodin. A devoted husband, father, beloved “Poppy” to his six grandchildren, and “Booby” or “Rodney” to his friends and family. Russel was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his strong work ethic. His Catholic faith was at the center of his life, and he was passionate about his beliefs. He was proud of his Cajun heritage. Blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit, Russel embraced many roles throughout his life and approached each one with determination and purpose. He always had a story to share and had a remarkable gift for making people laugh. His generosity knew no bounds, he would gladly give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, and he never hesitated to offer his time, talents, or support to others. Russel was a man of conviction who stood firmly for what he believed in and was never afraid to speak his mind. His kindness, faith, strength, and selflessness will be remembered by all who were lucky to know him.

Russel was preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Luna. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 45 years, Donna Bodin; five children, Laine Dessauer (Stephen), Russel Bodin III, Christina Cinquemano (Daniel), Connor Bodin (Kristina), and Ethan Bodin (fiancée: Bridget St. Germain); six grandchildren, Cohen Dessauer, Remi Dessauer, Sebastian Dessauer, Bodin Cinquemano, Landyn Cinquemano, and Tatum Cinquemano; sister, Stephanie Bernard (John), and two brothers, Timothy Bodin (Erna) and Edward Bodin (Christine).

Services will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Bay St. Louis, MS, with visitation at 11:00 a.m., rosary at 12:30 p.m., and Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bay St. Louis, MS.
