Robert Victor Delcuze

January 3, 1937 — August 31, 2025

Bay St. Louis

Robert “Bob” Victor Delcuze, 88, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, service, and just a little grease under his fingernails from his love of old cars.

Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, on January 3, 1937, Robert lived a life filled with curiosity, dedication, and compassion. A proud graduate of Mississippi State University, Class of 1959, he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering before serving in the Army National Guard. His professional career took flight at NASA’s Stennis Space Center, where he devoted over 35 years, ultimately serving as Chief of the Technical Operations Division—a role he carried with both brilliance and humility.

But Bob’s story was much bigger than titles and accolades. A man of deep Methodist faith, he was an active member at New Life Methodist Church. His calling extended beyond the pews, as he spent many years traveling with the Nomads on a Mission, working hands-on to rebuild homes and facilities, showing God’s love through hammers, nails, and endless generosity.

When not in service, Bob could often be found with his head under the hood of a classic car, watching NASCAR, or sharing stories with family and friends. His kind, gentle soul left a mark on everyone he met—a steady presence of wisdom, humor, and grace.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Bettye Delcuze; his children Tim (Debbie) Delcuze, Scot (Melanie) Delcuze, and Kim (Paul) Byrd; and five grandchildren who adored him: Kyle Delcuze, Jordan Delcuze, Dylan Delcuze (Patrick), Colin Byrd (Ivis), and Kendrick Byrd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Godfrey Delcuze; brothers, Godfrey, Terry, and William Delcuze; and grandson, Brennan Delcuze.

Though his earthly journey has ended, Bob’s story continues in the lives he touched, the homes he rebuilt, the engines he fine-tuned, and the family who will forever carry his memory.
