Richard Arthur Fillingame, also known as "Dickie" to his family, "Rich" at work, and "Papa" to his grandchildren, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the age of 67.

Richard was born on November 22, 1958, in Gulfport, Mississippi to James A. and Ethel Mae Fillingame. He was a graduate of Bay Sr. High School, class of 1976, and held an associate's degree from MGCCC. He worked in insurance and as a manager of grocery stores. Richard served his community as Secretary of the Lion's Club. His hobbies included shooting guns, participating in Cruisin' the Coast, visiting the racetrack, eating out with family, attending baseball games with the boys, and spending time with family. Richard touched a lot of lives, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Ethel Mae Fillingame. He is survived by his wife, Tammie L. Fillingame; son, Andre (Kim) Fillingame; daughter, Delanie Fillingame (Fiancé’ D.J.); five grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, Tobias, Anthony "A.J.", and Richard; and four siblings, Sandra (Denis) Wolf, Drew (Sherry) Fillingame, Wayne (Lynn) Fillingame, and Les (Barbara) Fillingame; and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Anvoi Hospice, MHG Driftwood staff; and his grocery store family, Froogles Grocery (Hardy Court and Dedeaux Road).
