Penny Lynn Ladner Bourgeois

Jul 16, 1947 — Jun 30, 2026

Penny Ladner Bourgeois, 78, of Bay St. Louis, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Born on July 16, 1947 in New Orleans to Agatha and Clinton Ladner, Penny was a true New Orleans Lady and lived a life that reflected the city from which she hailed. A lover of soulful music, good food, and cold drinks, Penny had a zeal for life that was infectious to be around.

Penny wore many beautiful hats and had a hat for all of life’s occasions. Her most well-known “hat” was that of a renowned reader of Tarot cards and practitioner of astronomy. In her more than 50 years studying the metaphysical, Penny was a mentor, counselor, and cherished friend to those she read for. The love and condolences shown by many of these clients in the wake of her death has been a great comfort to her family.

All who knew her knew that her most cherished hat was that of mother to her three sons – Roy (Jade), Randy (Christy), and Rodney (Leslie), and Gan-Gan to her three grandchildren – Sarah (Nick), Ryan (Megan), and Leah. In her final months of life, she joyously welcomed her first great-grandchild, Camille Margaret.

Penny’s transition was made easier thanks to a wonderful staff of nurses and caregivers including Nathan with Deaconess Hospice, Dunbar Village, and VitalCare Hospice.

Her family invites you to offer condolences and leave tributes to a wonderful life at bslef.com

Though she has gone from this world, her Love and Light shines on and will be celebrated by her family and friends on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at The Arts, Hancock County, 405 Blaize Ave. Bay St. Louis, MS from 12pm til 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shrine of St. Jude in New Orleans – a place that held special meaning for Penny.
