Norman James Sonier

Norman "Bubbie" James Sonier, 85, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2026.

Norman dedicated his career as a Law Enforcement Officer State Trooper with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and cherished spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dominick and Lillian Favre Sonier, and his brother, Lauren J. Sonier.

Norman is survived by his sister, Norma Karl BriggsKarl (Jerry); three nieces, Sylvia S. Berry (Vance), Melissa McDyer (Jim), and Laurie Stakelum (Sean); two nephews, Scott Karl (Angela) and Chris Karl (Jennie); as well as several great-nieces and nephews: Meagan Illich, Russell Berry (Whitney), Bailey McDyer, Colin McDyer, Faith Karl, Noah Karl, and Teagan Karl; and great-great-nieces and nephews: Jet Sierra, Jax Sierra, and Riley Belle Berry.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Waveland City Cemetery, in Waveland.
