Michael Jeffrey Bopp

Michael Jeffery Bopp, aka Jeff, left us on September 1, 2025. He was only 59 years old. While his departure was far too soon, he managed to pack more laughter, kindness, artistry, and love into his years than most people do in a lifetime.

Jeff was the son of Kenneth and Mariann Bopp, brother of Chris Gros, Nick Aranda, Kathy Koester, and Steve Koester, and Uncle Jeff to Mandy, Nick, Ben, Drew, Sam, Claire, Dallas and Aryn. He was the friend of many, including his childhood gang that endures even despite the loss.

Jeff graduated from Lutheran High School of New Orleans. He went on to work in whichever profession his incredible skill and talent suited in any particular era, growing his circle of friends as he traveled through life.

Jeff’s circle of family and friends will forever be bonded by the laughter, love, care, and hilarity that we knew when we were with him. While our story with Jeff is over too soon, every chapter was one of love and hope. I hope that you will honor Jeff and keep his spirit alive by loving one another and lending a hand whenever you can.

Please share your favorite ridiculous memory of Jeff, and laugh 'til it hurts. Hug your family, and call the ones you haven’t seen in a while. Heck, hug a stranger and tell them there is hope. Remind people that the world wouldn’t be the same without them. We’re all a little less without Jeff.
