Meca B. James, 92, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in Bay St. Louis, MS.

She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland, MS. Meca enjoyed gardening, playing cards, cooking, and baking. She was a wonderful and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Schaefer, Jr.; second husband, Sheldon R. James; and parents, John and Helen Bordonaro.

She is survived by her four children, Sharon Kuchler (George), Frankie Schaefer (Lynn), David Schaefer (Karen), and Danette Welborn; two brothers, John Bordonaro and Alexander Bordonaro; sister, Nora Dupont; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; neighbors, Doug and Marcie Power; and adoring cat, Lucy.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Dunbar Village Nursing Home: 725 Dunbar Avenue, Bay St. Louis, MS 39520, or Notre Dame Hospice of MS: 5407 Indian Hill Drive Diamondhead, MS 39525.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland, MS from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS at 2:30 p.m.
