Matthew Anthony Ladner, 57, of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Matthew was born in Bay Saint Louis, MS on September 30, 1967 to Lyonie "Jeep" and Rosalie "Rosie" Ladner. A cowboy from an early age and a true cowboy at heart throughout his life, Matt was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones. His passion for farming was evident not only in his dedicated work raising goats and cattle, and the lively presence of horses and chickens on their farm, but also in his love for nurturing the land itself, often from the seat of his favorite John Deere tractor. Beyond the farm, he also found immense satisfaction in working with wood, building, and making things for others. He found happiness in simple pleasures, whether it was dancing to country music with his beloved wife or attending organized trail rides that often benefited individuals or organizations in need. A truly giving person within his community, Matt was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was also known for being outspoken and never hesitated to speak his mind. His kind spirit and love for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Jeep Ladner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Tonya Ladner; three children, Samantha Ladner (Josh Hartzog), Madelynn Ladner, and Wyatt Ladner; one granddaughter, Maren Hartzog; mother, Rosie Ladner; three siblings, Lyonie Ladner Jr., Lynel Necaise (Rodney), and Leslie Ladner (Jeston Bodden); two nieces, Haley and Maesyn; and three nephews, Hayden, Jacob, and Cole.
