Lora Nugent

Lora Nugent 80, of Kiln, MS passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Slidell, LA.

Born in Picayune, MS, Lora was a proud graduate of Pearl River Central in 1964. She dedicated her career to working at Hyde Security at NASA Stennis Space Test Site, where her passion and determination made a lasting impression.

Lora found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cooking delightful meals for her family, quilting beautiful creations, tending to her garden, or indulging in a bit of shopping. Her loving spirit and nurturing heart resonated with all who knew her.

She is welcomed into eternal rest by her cherished husband, James Nugent Jr.; her dear children, Lora Adams and Johnny Nugent; granddaughter, Shanna Adams; her parents, George and Eleanor Fleming; as well as five siblings who preceded her in death: Milford Flemming, John Fleming, Marion Malley, Robert Fleming, and Stephen Fleming.

Lora's legacy continues through her son, James Nugent III; daughter-in-law, Angel; and her cherished grandchildren, Lisa McCool (Bryan), Brandie Jones (Roy), Jamie Gerald (Brandon), Johnny Nugent (Maria), Amanda Dibble (Brad), Amie Nugent, and Patrick Nugent (Ambrelle). She was also blessed with sixteen great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: Hunter Adams, Dylan Cuevas, Madeline Gerald, Sean McCool, Ares Gerald, Maci Searcy, Caleb Searcy, Bradley Nugent, Brandon Teabout, Chalee Nugent, Abigayle Nugent, Johnny Nugent III, Khazak Preston, Kolten Dibble, Karleigh Dibble, and Kayce Dibble; son-in-law, PeeWee Adams and her beloved pets, Elsa, Lucy, and Shadow, who were always by her side.

A Graveside Service to honor her memory will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Turtleskin Cemetery in Hancock County, MS at 11:30 a.m.
