Larry D. Benting

Larry D. Benting, 84, of Picayune, MS passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, in Gulfport, MS.

Larry was a man of simple joys, wholeheartedly embracing his passions for classic cars and the beauty of gardening. He delighted in sharing the fruits of his labor with those around him, creating lasting memories through the simple act of giving.

Larry’s warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed by his beloved family and friends; each one touched in their own way by his generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul and Hilder Benting, as well as his brother, Stuart Benting.

Left to carry on his legacy are his devoted daughter, Kim Hoda (Barry), his stepdaughter, Margrette Wanscott, and his brother, Allan Benting (Sherry). Together, they honor his memory and the love he shared with each of them.

A Celebration of Life and burial will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in Texas at a later date, details of which will be announced.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Larry’s joyful spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
