Kathy Burnett Ford, age 69, of Kiln, Miss., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, passing peacefully in the arms of her loving son, her beloved husband at her side.
Born to Henry "Preacher" M. Eubanks and Esther "Kitty" Moss, Kat came into this world on October 22, 1956, in Lucedale, Miss. Kat grew up in Lucedale and attended George County High School. She worked incredibly hard and became the trusted listener and counselor to friends at many establishments on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
On October 18, 1997, she married Timothy Ford in Lucedale, MS. at her Big Granny’s house. Together, they built a family, loved hard and laughed often. Family was the center of Kat’s life, and she especially loved being Nanny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Sunshine "Bigfoot", Sweet P, Wurm "Cupcake", Little Man, Muffin "Smiley", Noodle, Tadpole, Litefoot, Moonchild, Tonkaa, Pup, and Midnite.
Kat will be remembered as someone who would go to the ends of the earth and move mountains to help anyone she could. Her loyalty knew no boundaries and her compassion was unmatched. To many, she was not only Mama Kat, but also Nanny and if you knew her by that, you knew true love, “A/F”, always and forever. Kat’s heart belonged to her family, and she loved them with a depth that words can scarcely hold. Kat poured herself into her family, loving without measure and leaving behind a legacy of unwavering grace.
Kat is survived by her loving parents Henry (June) Eubanks of Lucedale, MS; faithful husband of 29 years, Tim Ford of Kiln, MS; daughter, Karrie Glenn of Pascagoula, MS; son, Kris (Sami) Burnett of Kiln, MS; son, Lil Tommie (Shelley) Soles of Moss Point, MS; and youngest, Jessica Ford (Jeremy) Wilson of Laurel, MS; her grandchildren, Samantha (Jim) Stilian of Dracut, Mass.; Paige (Thomas) Ceja of Rolla, Mo.; Ryan (Ashley) Glenn of Pascagoula, MS; Kaleb Burnett of Greenville, Nc.; Loriana (Destin) Merkle of Rolla, Mo.; Alyssa Burnett of Waynesville, Mo.; Jacob Soles of Moss Point, MS, and Jenna Wilson of Laurel, MS; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; her best friend and brother, Hank, Sr.; and many, many close friends, yaya sisters and family.
Waiting to greet her in Heaven are Kat’s mother, Esther (Kitty) Moss; brothers, Sturdy Eubanks and Erick Eubanks; grandparents, Lloyd and Lola Eubanks; son-in-law, Tony Glenn; brother, Tommie Soles; and numerous friends and Yaya sisters that were her family.
Her celebration of life will be held in April 2026, at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to their local pet rescue/ animal shelter.
The family would like to thank Abby Lafleur, NP for her thoughtful care and support.
