Julie Marie Stritzinger Burdg

January 11, 1962 — October 15, 2025

Waveland

Julie Marie Burdg, 63, of Waveland, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Julie faced every day with remarkable strength and grace, even as she bravely fought through the devastating diagnosis of an incurable and rare brain disease known as Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Though her body grew weaker, her spirit never did. She met each challenge with courage, humor, and love — an example of resilience that will forever inspire those who knew her.

Julie had a generous heart and a joyful spirit. She loved spending her days treasure-hunting at garage sales and thrift shops, always finding something special to share with those she loved. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, cooking for her family, riding her bike along the beach, and playing bingo with her friends. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her children and grandchildren, and she had a deep affection for her dogs, who were her constant companions and sources of comfort.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Masin Hill, Jr. and Cleo “Lee” Hill; her sister, Lisa Ann Stritzinger; and her grandmother, Viola Domingue.

She is survived by her husband, Joey Burdg; her daughter, Jessica Steele (Scott); her son, Shawn Ralph (Jennifer); and her beloved grandchildren, Landon Brewer, Logan Brewer, Anna Brewer, Willa Grace Steele, Jaiden Ralph, Jorden Ralph, and Jada Genna. She also leaves behind her bonus grandchildren, Colby, Collin, and Austin, and her bonus great-granddaughter, Elsie. Julie is further survived by her sisters, Trina Lizana (Joey) and Annette Lee (Anthony); her aunt, Linda Guillot (the late Roger); and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.

Julie will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and contagious laughter. She had a smile that could light up any room and a heart that was truly one of a kind.

Julie’s family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the incredible staff of Dunbar Village. Your gentle care, compassion, and unwavering support made a difficult time a little easier. You became part of our extended family, and we will forever be grateful for the love and care you showed Julie each day.

Even in death, Julie’s kindness continues to make a difference. As a brain donor, her final gift was to help advance research into Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), offering hope to others who may one day face this devastating disease.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable contributions in memory of Julie Burdg be made to Brain Support Network, www.brainsupportnetwork.org, P.O. Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026.
