Johne Wagner Hughes

Johne Josephine Wagner Hughes, 80, of Long Beach, MS passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, in New Orleans, LA.
Johne was born in Kiln, MS to Wilma Schooler Wagner on May 28, 1942. Her father, John Joseph Wagner passed away before she was born.
Johne grew up in Bay St. Louis and went to St. Joseph Academy for 12 years. After graduating high school, she attended Mercy Hospital Nursing School in Vicksburg, MS where she received her degree and became a registered nurse.
She had a long successful nursing career specializing in psychiatric nursing. Johne had a great compassion for her patients, and they loved her.
Johne also had a strong love of music. Her favorite band was the Bee Gees, especially Barry. She often danced to Motown while cleaning house.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma Schooler and John Wagner; and son, David Towns Sayle III.
She leaves behind her son, Robert Towns Sayle, Jr and his wife Tullea.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach, MS at 11:00 am. The family will receive guests one hour prior to Mass.
