Joe R. Martin entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of 82. 

Joe was the beloved son of the late Nezzie Monk Martin and Dempsey Martin. He leaves behind a loving family; his wife of 31 years, Diane Darcy Martin. He is also survived by his sister and brother, Ruby Dee Barnes and James Martin. He was proceeded in death by his stepson, the late Chris J. Boudreaux Jr., (Melissa); survived by his stepchildren, Rodney Boudreaux, (Tish), Jason Boudreaux Sr, (Katie), Brett Boudreaux, (Laurie), Suzette Boudreaux Chesshir, (Brian), Glenn Rogers, Jr., Ginger Rogers Garcia, (Dan), and Jacob Rogers. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He was a native of Leesville, La., and resided in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, for the past 32 years. Joe enlisted in the United States Navy, serving 8 years active duty. He was retired from Capital Marine in New Orleans, La., and Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, Ms. He was a gentle man, patient, and kind. Joe will be remembered dearly by all who know him.

Special thanks to Deaconess Hospice for the care they provided for Joe. The family will have a private memorial.
