Jeremy Michael Kihneman, 38, of Amite, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Born on January 13, 1988, in Slidell, Louisiana, to Charles Kihneman Sr. and Lauren Finch Zumwalt, Jeremy lived a life defined by warmth, loyalty and a heart that was bigger than life itself. He never met a stranger-only friends he had not yet made. Whether speaking to someone he had known for years or a cashier he had just met, Jeremy had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, valued and important. His kindness was genuine, effortless, and extended to everyone.
Jeremy’s laugh was unforgettable- loud, contagious and capable of filling any room. His smile reached his eyes and lit them up, carrying a warmth that followed him everywhere he went. He had a gift for brightening even the darkest days, offering humor, comfort, and a steady presence to those who needed it most.
To those who loved him, Jeremy was like the biggest sunflower in the field-always standing tall, always turning toward the light, always making the world brighter simply by being in it. He loved deeply and without hesitation. If you were his, you knew it. He showed up. He protected. He provided love. He cared in both quiet and bold ways. Though not perfect, he was real-strong in love, strong in loyalty, and strong in perseverance through life’s challenges. He taught more by the way he lived than words ever could.
Above all, Jeremy was a devoted father to his daughter, Khloee Mary Grace Kihneman. The love he had for her was unwavering and fierce, and she carries forward his light, his laughter, and his heart.
Jeremy is survived by his father, Charles Kihneman Sr. (Linda); his mother, Lauren Finch Zumwalt (John); his cherished daughter, Khloee Mary Grace Kihneman; his sisters, Joni Compretta (Rob); Caitlen Holden (Chase); his brothers, Charles Kihneman Jr. and Jonathan Kihneman (Carmen); his grandmother, Laura Gilchrist and his beloved nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though there is now an empty space that can never truly be filled, Jeremy’s light remains-in the lessons he taught, in the laughter he shared, and in the love, he gave so freely. His presence lives on in the hearts of those who carry pieces of him with them every day. The light he brought into this world can never be taken away.
