Jennifer Jean “Jeanie” Moran, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Greenbrier Nursing Center. A lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she resided in D’Iberville after spending the majority of her life in her hometown of Bay St. Louis with her family.
Born on June 28, 1949 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, to the late Big John and Rose (Walle) Rutherford. Jeanie was a proud 1967 graduate of Bay High School. She went on to earn her certification as an X-Ray technician from Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
Jeanie was an avid reader and loved to travel. She was passionate about caring for others, and it showed in the love and dedication she gave to her patients and co-workers during her 32 years at Hancock Medical Center.
Jeanie was a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and attended many continuing education opportunities and shared her knowledge with those she led in her position as the Director of Radiology at Hancock Medical Center. She also served on a number of community service organizations and was successful in giving back to her beloved Bay St. Louis.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Big John and Rose Rutherford, her husband, Anthony, her brothers, Dr. J.D. Rutherford, Jimmy Rutherford, and Jeff Rutherford and her sister, Jan Rutherford. She is survived by her children; Susie Murray (Mike) and J.E. Moran (Mandy), and grandchildren; Hunter Murray (Hannah), Clare Murray, John-Michael Moran, Emily Moran, and Madelynn Moran.
Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church will be holding services on Thursday, April 30, 2026, with visitation at 12:00 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Internment will take place at Bayou LaCroix Cemetery.
