Jack Joseph Voelker, 92, of Diamondhead, MS, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, surrounded by loving family.
Jack was born May 24, 1934, in New Orleans, LA and enjoyed life as a consummate family man, introducing three generations of his family to his love of fishing. Graduated from St. Aloysious High School where he excelled on the football field earning a scholarship to Vanderbilt University. He decided to forgo the university to start a family and a career in Chalmette LA. He retired from Exxon-Mobil after 45 years of service at the Refinery. Jack and Carolyn were avid cruisers visiting many countries on 6 different continents.
Jack is survived by his wife Carolynn Bierhorst Voelker and his daughters Charlotte (Jim) and Jill, grandchildren; Melanie, Mark (Melissa) and Kate (Matt), his sister Mary Routly (Larry) and 4 great-grandchildren (Janie, Carolynn, James, and Louis). He was preceded in death by his parents William and Amelia Voelker and his brother William, Jr. (Ollie).
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, in Perkinston, MS. Visitation begins at 9:30am with Mass to follow at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Annunciation Catholic Church of Kiln, MS.
