It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the death of Hodges Louis Bilbo, born in Bay St. Louis, MS on August 5, 1940, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the age of 83 in Kiln, MS leaving to mourn his family and friends.

Hodges grew up in Kiln, MS where he met and married his loving wife Carolyn of 66 years before moving to Florida where they raised their 5 children. Later in life they moved back to Kiln, MS to be closer to their families. He had his own mechanic shop in Cocoa Beach, FL for many years where he shared his passion of working on cars and racing cars with his son Matthew.  He was very intelligent, had a great sense of humor and laugh, and was very kind. He enjoyed growing a vegetable garden, working in the yard, fixing anything in need of repair, watching car races, taking care of their cats, dogs, and birds, and spending time with his family and friends.

Hodges was preceded in death by: his mother, Lillian Carver; his father, Matthew Bilbo; son, Matthew Bilbo, three sisters, Diane Seal, Mary Schwartz and Barbara Seal; and brother Herbert Carver.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bilbo; children, Marlene Wollney (Mike), Kelly Whippo (Jeff), Bridget Vining, and Renee Bilbo; sisters, Camilla Necaise, Carol Ann Thomas, Shirley Shipman, Cynthia Carver, Elaine Garner, and Brenda White; brothers, Theodore Bilbo (Darlene), and Henry Carver (Earlene); thirteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
