Ernest Samuel "Ernie" Carver, Jr.

Ernest Samuel "Ernie" Carver, Jr., 84, of Waveland, MS passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 in Waveland, MS.

Ernie graduated from Bay High School (1957) and Delgado Community College. He served in the United States Navy for 10 years. He was a member of Shoreline Park Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis. He was employed and retired as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor with Waterford III Nuclear Power Plant for 35 years. He was a 24 year heart transplant survivor.

Ernie's passion was traveling/camping with Diane to all 50 states and they enjoyed numerous camping tours together.

Ernie was a devoted Christian man who loved his family, GOD, and his church. He was funny and loved to tell cajun jokes but, anyone who knew him heard his favorite joke, sometimes more than once. One more time for you, Ernie: What do sandcastles, LSU, and Mississippi State have in common? They all look good until the Tide rolls in!

The family would like to thank the pastor of Shoreline Park Baptist Church, Barry Ginn, his wife, Lisa, and the congregation, Gentiva Hospice, and numerous friends and family for the love and support during this difficult time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Samuel and Elvira Bourgeois Carver, Sr.; sister, Rosalee Carver, and mother-in-law, Alfreda Bullard.

He is survived by his wonderful and loving wife, Diane Bullard Carver; daughter, Mary Carol Dolese (Shannon); two sons, Ernest Samuel Carver III (Susan) and Charles E. Carver (Raquel); step-son, Jerry L. Morgan, Jr.; step-daughter, Kimberly D. Newbould (David); sister, Joy Van Voorhis and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to Shoreline Park Baptist Church: 10121 Kiln Waveland Cutoff Road, Bay St. Louis, MS 39520.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Shoreline Park Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with a funeral service at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Waveland Cemetery in Waveland, MS.
