Bay Saint Louis, MS

Edward Anthony Soffra, Jr.

At the age of 64, in his home in Bayside Park on Tuesday October 10th 2023, Edward Anthony Soffra, Jr., or as he liked to be called Eddie, peacefully passed away.

A Christian born and raised in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Eddie grew up in Cedar Point, spending his youth fishing, riding motorcycles, and learning to be an electrician working alongside his father at their family business, Edwards Electric Co. He attended Bay High School and later attended MGCCC where he received a degree in the culinary arts. He spent most of his adult life working as a well-respected electrician, and later started his own small electrical/handyman business locally.

Eddie loved music, cooking, his dogs, and fishing; he was one of the best fishermen in the Bay. He was even better at growing plants for medicinal use. Most of all he loved spending time with his mom, daughter, and grandchildren. He excelled in anything he put his mind to. There was not a thing he could not build or fix. He prided himself in showing loyalty to the people he held dear to him. He was loved and respected by all who were lucky enough to know him and will be deeply missed.

A memorial was held in his honor at the end of the seawall in Cedar Point Saturday October 14th at 10:00 a.m. There will be another Memorial in his honor to scatter his ashes with close friends and family, date and time to be disclosed in the near future.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Edward Anthony Soffra, Sr., and his mother, Estelle Dungan Soffra.

He is survived by his four grandchildren, Devin Broome, John Haley III, Abigale Southard, and Bryson Soffra; two sisters, Deborah Strickland and Kathy Bourne; brother, Melvin Soffra; nieces, Magan Bourne, Robin Bourne, Jessica Johnson, and Victoria Soffra; nephews, Casey Johnson and Justin Soffra; and only daughter, Tiffany Lynn Soffra. Until we see you again, we love you all the way to the Moon and back.

Edmond Fahey Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Edward Anthony Soffra, Jr.
