Dennis Patrick Mayfield, Sr.

Dennis Patrick Mayfield, Sr., also known as "Big D", and known and loved by his family as "Poppa", of Marrero, LA, passed away on Thursday,  April 25, 2024, in Picayune, MS, at the age of 55. He was born on July 28, 1968.

Dennis, a hardworking and loving husband to Kristen Hornosky for 20 years, was a devoted father to Dennis P. Mayfield Jr. and Brie Londot Mayfield (Wife), Kyle Mayfield, and Summer Mayfield. He was also the coolest and best Poppa ever to Beaux, Ella, and Ruby Mayfield. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond L Mayfield and Ella Sanchez Mayfield, and brother Gerard (Jerry) Mayfield. Dennis is survived by many family members and will be missed more than words can express.

In his free time, Dennis enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, and spending quality time with his family. His outgoing, laid-back, DGAF attitude and personality, his love for choppers and rides to nowhere, and the love he had for his family and friends, and compassion for those he didn't know, will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dennis may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Dennis Patrick Mayfield, Sr., a legend, leaves behind a legacy of love and support for charities and benefits for the less fortunate, sick, and for those who have passed on. He will also be remembered through many cherished memories and the way he touched people’s lives. As he rides through those pearly gates, may he rest easy and ride on for eternity.
