David Lee Van Patten, 50, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, passed away on June 14, 2026, in Bay St. Louis.
Born on September 16, 1975, at Vandenberg Air Force Hospital in California, David was a son, brother, father, veteran, and friend. He proudly served in the military for two years and was a disabled veteran.
David loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed fishing, boating, jet skiing, relaxing at the lake, visiting the beach, and trying his luck at the casino. He especially loved spending time in New Orleans, one of his favorite places to visit. Whether he was on the water, enjoying the outdoors, or sharing stories with friends, David found joy in life’s simple moments.
He was known for his sense of humor and was genuinely one of the funniest people you could ever meet. He had a way of making people laugh, lifting spirits, and creating memories that will not be forgotten.
Though life was not always easy, those who knew David knew he cared deeply for his family and friends in his own way. He was loved by many and will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, and the unique impact he had on the lives of those around him.
David is survived by his mother, Eva Necaise; his father, Don Van Patten; his sisters, Laurel Van Patten and Sonya Van Patten; his son, Jourdan Hartshorn; and his daughters, Adrianna Van Patten and Abigail Van Patten.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Though he is gone, the laughter he brought to others and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
