Curtis Eugene Ray Sr., 74 of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, May 1st, 2025.

Curtis was born in St. Louis, Missouri and was a longtime resident of Bay Saint Louis, MS. He was of the Baptist faith. Curtis joined the U.S. Army in 1968, where he served honorably for three years. He served during the Vietnam War, earning multiple awards including the Purple Heart. He retired from the Army after sustaining a serious injury from a land mine. Curtis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Ray and Darthy Compton; his wife, Mary Ray, and oldest son, Curtis E. Ray Jr.

He is survived by his son, Mark W. Ray; daughters, Tara Ray and Spring Bourg; sister, Sharon Warren of Saint Louis, MO; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and all residents of Bay Saint Louis, MS.

Services will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025. Visitation will take place at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS from 10:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. And a Graveside Service will take place at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS at 1:30 p.m., where Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard for his honorable service to his country. If attending the Graveside Service, please arrive by 1:15 p.m. as services will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m.
