Barbara Jean Thornton

Barbara Jean Thornton, 74, of Kiln, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Barbara was a woman committed to her faith and committed to her family.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Edna Thornton; brothers, George Earl, David, William, Elmer, and James Thornton; sisters, Ethal Page, Nora Lafontaine, Deloris Page, and Patricia Green. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Gaines (Donald) of Diamondhead, MS; grandchildren, Donald "Trey" Gaines III (Madison "Maddie") stationed with the U.S. Marines in North Carolina, and Nickolas "Nick" Gaines, MSU student; brother, Bruce Thornton of LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay Saint Louis, MS, with visitation at 4:00 p.m. and funeral at 5:00 p.m. Following the service, everyone is invited to join the family at Lakeshore Community Center on Lower bay Road to remember all the good times shared with Ms. Barbara Thornton.
