Anthony Louis LeLouis III, passed away on October 24, 2023, in Diamondhead, MS. He was born on April 17, 1934, in Greenwood, MS. Anthony was known for his dedication to his career as a pilot.
Anthony's passion for flying began at a young age and led him to pursue a career as a pilot for Eastern Airline. With a skillful hand and years of experience under his belt, he served as a pilot for Eastern Airline for an impressive 21 years. Anthony became a Pilot Instructor and shared his expertise with aspiring pilots for an additional 45 years.
Anthony's educational journey included earning an Associates Degree from American River College in Sacramento, CA. This foundation of knowledge served him well throughout his aviation career.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Anthony dedicated nine years of service to the United States Navy. He bravely fought in the Korean War and honored his duty with courage and valor.
Outside of his work and military service, Anthony enjoyed many hobbies and interests that enriched his life. Flying remained a lifelong passion, providing him with a sense of freedom above the clouds. He also found joy in playing the guitar and singing. Scuba diving allowed him to explore the wonders beneath the surface of the ocean while farming connected him deeply with nature. Anthony was also a skilled shooter who took pleasure in refining his marksmanship skills.
He is survived by his devoted spouse Mary LeLouis; their son Chris LeLouis (Autumn); granddaughter, Rachel Bidwell (Jake); grandson, Nick LeLouis (Shelbi); grandson, Ben LeLouis (Laurna); great-grandsons, Wayland, Ryder, and Westyn; and great-granddaughters, Maddison, Emma, Aubree, and Brenleigh.
Anthony will be missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy as a skilled pilot and dedicated mentor, will forever be remembered.
A graveside service to honor Anthony's life will take place at Biloxi National Cemetery on October 27, 2023. The service will begin at 12:30 PM with the location at 400 Veterans Ave, Biloxi, MS 39531. Family and friends are invited to attend this final tribute to a remarkable man.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Anthony's memory to a charity of your choice.
