Ann Gottschalk Bobinger

June 14, 1947 — June 1, 2025

Bay St. Louis

Ann Gottschalk Bobinger, 77, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Gulfport, MS. Ann was born into a large and loving family in Pontiac, Michigan. At an early childhood age, the family relocated to Bay St. Louis and established a homestead on DeMontluzim Street. Ann attended St. Joseph's Academy, the source of many lifelong friendships and "tales". Ann excelled in everything she did, but her strength and compassion was clearly in being of service to others. She chose to become a Registered Nurse and enjoyed a long, fulfilling career that included Gulf Coast Community Hospital (where she started their Chemical Dependency Unit and ultimately became a Nursing Administrator). She was recruited to Memorial Hospital mid-career to develop and enhance an expanded Customer Relations Department. Ann's mental health background and personal skills as a wise and gifted "counselor" allowed her to be of invaluable service to many struggling individuals and families for the duration of her career. Ann retired in 2008.

Ann married the love of her life, Dewey, in 1967 Together they built a beautiful and fun-loving life, with their two children, Buffy and Robbie. Their home was always filled with love, laughter and tons of memories. Ann loved to cook especially at Christmas (and decorate her tree and home). She loved any kind of sports on tv also. She treasured her trips to Maine, and all the lifelong friends who stayed in touch through the years. Ann always surrounded herself with friends and family, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved.

Ann loved her Catholic faith....and protected and nurtured it throughout her life. She was a member at Our Lady of the Gulf (with periodic visits to St Rosa de Lima as well). During her final 3-month long health battle, she was so very grateful to all the priests, clergy and friends who sustained her through the sacraments, prayers and visits. One of her final requests was to make sure everyone who helped her in any way during this last trial was thanked. To that end, we also need to thank and remember her health care team at Memorial Hospital and Select Medical. Till her final breath, she was still concerned for others.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dewey Bobinger.

She is survived by her loving children, Buffy Yuratich (Scott) and Robbie Bobinger (Amelia); six siblings, Karl Gottschalk, Ricky Gottschalk, Johnny Gottschalk, Sheila Gottschalk, Mary Moses and Patricia Gottschalk and two adoring grandchildren, Additionally, she will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and "outlaws" too numerous to name!

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception at the Life Christian Center. Private Burial.
